India's industrial production grew less-than-expected in September, preliminary data from the Central Statistics Office showed Friday.
Industrial production rose 3.8 percent year-on-year in September, which was slower than the 4.1 percent growth economists had expected.
The August production growth was revised up to 4.5 percent from 4.3 percent reported initially.
Mining production grew 7.9 percent and both manufacturing and electricity sectors registered 3.4 percent increase each.
Primary goods output rose 6.6 percent, capital goods production grew 7.4 percent and intermediate goods logged 1.9 percent gain. Infrastructure and construction sector goods output increased 0.5 percent.
While consumer durables output decreased 4.8 percent, non-durables jumped 10 percent.
