The Commerce Department's advance GDP data for the first quarter has been published at 8.30 am ET Friday.
After the data, the greenback climbed against its major rivals.
The greenback was trading at 109.41 against the yen, 1.3767 against the pound, 1.2073 against the euro and 0.9906 against the franc around 8:31 am ET.
