The Labor Department's Durable Goods Orders for July has been published at 8.30 am ET Friday.
After the data, the greenback changed little against its major rivals.
The greenback was trading at 1.1591 against the euro, 1.2848 against the pound, 111.29 against the yen and 0.9839 against the franc around 8:34 am ET.
