At 5.00 am ET Monday, Eurostat is set to issue euro area final consumer prices for August. Inflation is expected to ease to 2 percent, in line with flash estimate, from 2.1 percent in July.
Ahead of the data, the euro rose against its major rivals.
The euro was worth 1.1651 against the greenback, 1.1251 against the franc, 0.8898 against the pound and 130.45 against the yen as of 4:55 am ET.
