Italy's industrial orders recovered after declining a month ago, figures from Istat showed Wednesday.

Industrial orders grew 2.2 percent on month, reversing February's 2.8 percent decrease. Orders from domestic market slid 0.5 percent, while non-domestic market orders advanced 6.2 percent.

On a yearly basis, industrial orders decreased for the fifth straight month in March. Orders declined 3.6 percent after falling 3.1 percent in February.

Data showed that industrial sales growth improved to 0.3 percent on a monthly basis, from 0.2 percent in February. Year-on-year, growth in sales rose to 1.3 percent from 1.1 percent.
