After the release of the U.S. consumer price index for July at 8:30 am ET Tuesday, the greenback rose against its major counterparts.
The greenback was trading at 1.1213 against the euro, 105.31 against the yen, 0.9678 against the franc and 1.2076 against the pound around 8:33 am ET.
