At 5.00 am ET Monday, Eurostat releases euro area industrial production for August. Economists forecast output to drop 2.6 percent annually following a 2 percent fall in July.
Ahead of the data, the euro held steady against its major counterparts.
The euro was worth 1.0989 against the franc, 119.41 against the yen, 1.1030 against the greenback and 0.8776 against the pound at 4:55 am ET.
