At 5.00 am ET Wednesday, Eurostat publishes euro area final consumer prices and foreign trade figures. Economists expect inflation to ease to 0.9 percent, as initially estimated, from 1 percent in August.
Ahead of the data, the euro retreated from its early highs against its major counterparts.
The euro was worth 119.92 against the yen, 1.1001 against the franc, 1.1033 against the greenback and 0.8672 against the pound at 4:55 am ET.
