At 2.00 am ET Thursday, Destatis is scheduled to publish Germany's foreign trade figures for May. The trade surplus is seen at EUR 5.2 billion versus EUR 3.2 billion in April.
Ahead of the data, the euro advanced against its major counterparts.
The euro was worth 1.1360 against the greenback, 0.8994 against the pound, 121.91 against the yen and 1.0642 against the franc at 1:55 am ET.
