The euro dived to multi-month lows against the US dollar and the Japanese yen Wednesday, as the changing monetary policy stance between the European Central Bank and other banks pushed the currency lower.

The currency was trading at 1.3464, the lowest since November 21.

Euro was under pressure after the ECB reduced rates to record lows on June 5 in its endeavor to fend off deflation in the eurozone.

Recently, statements from ECB President Mario Draghi were noticed as the latest cue the central bank would be open to additional monetary easing measures to help bolster the faltering recuperation.

Against the Japanese yen, the euro touched five-month lows when it dipped 0.05% to ¥136.54.
