During early deals on Monday, the Slovak koruna edged higher against the US dollar. At about 1:35 am ET, the koruna reached a high of 22.4630 against the dollar, compared to Friday's closing value of 22.5660. This set the highest point for the Slovak currency since October 16, 2008. On the upside, 22.12 is seen as the next target level for the koruna.

The Slovak koruna is pegged to the European currency since March 2007. The reference rate for the euro-koruna pair is at 30.305.
