Sweden's Economic Tendency Indicator rose to 96.0 in August 2025, up from 94.3 in July, marking its highest point since February. This increase was primarily due to enhanced business sentiment, which has reached the historical average at 99.8, compared to 97.4 previously. Confidence levels improved across various sectors: manufacturing rose to 97.0 from 95.8 in July, construction improved to 98.0 from 97.5, retail trade increased to 105.5 from 103.0, and services climbed to 99.2 from 97.0. Firms' expectations for sales prices over the upcoming three months remained stable, close to normal levels. Additionally, consumer confidence experienced a slight increase, moving to 91.1 from 90.8; however, households continue to exhibit more pessimism than usual.
