In August 2025, average hourly earnings for employees on U.S. private nonfarm payrolls increased by 10 cents, or 0.3% from the previous month, reaching $36.53. This change matched the pace set in July and met market projections. Additionally, average hourly wages for private-sector production and nonsupervisory workers rose by 12 cents, or 0.4%, to $31.46. Over the last year, average hourly earnings have seen a 3.7% rise, a slight decrease from the 3.9% growth recorded in July, yet still aligned with expectations.
