In July 2025, the Swedish economy experienced a slight contraction, with GDP declining by 0.2% from the previous month. This downturn came after a revised increase of 1.4% in June. "The marginal decrease in July's GDP is partly attributed to a decline in goods production and weaker net exports," explained Neda Shahbazi, an economist with Statistics Sweden. Compared to the same month last year, GDP rose by 2%, following a revised 2.7% increase in June.
