In September 2025, factory gate prices for UK-manufactured goods experienced a year-on-year increase of 3.4%, marking an uptick from the revised 3.1% rise observed in August. This upward trend was predominantly driven by nine out of ten product categories, with notable contributions from food products and motor vehicles and transport equipment. Despite showing slight decreases, with food products at 4.6% down from 4.7% and motor vehicles at 6.4% down from 6.5%, these categories were key contributors to the overall growth. Additionally, prices escalated for textiles, apparel, and leather goods, reaching 5.3% compared to the previous 5.1%. On the other hand, a slower rate of cost increase was recorded for chemicals and pharmaceuticals, which rose by 2.1% down from 2.3%, as well as for paper and paper products, which inched up by 0.5% from 1%. Conversely, the decline in prices for coke and refined petroleum products persisted, albeit at a reduced rate of -3.5% compared to -9.1% earlier. On a monthly scale, producer output prices remained stable, following a 0.2% increment in August.
