Mexico’s retail sales increased 3.1% year-on-year in February 2026, slowing from 5.0% growth in January but extending the expansion streak to a tenth consecutive month. The strongest advances were seen in textiles, costume jewelry, accessories, and footwear (14.8%); stationery and personal-use items (13.2%); and online and catalog sales (12.7%). There were also notable gains in healthcare products (9.9%) and in household goods, computers, home décor, and used items (7.3%). By contrast, grocery sales declined 6.2%. On a month-on-month basis, retail sales fell 0.9% in February, following a 1.0% increase in January.
