Taiwan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate inched down to 3.32% in May 2026 from 3.34% in April, reaching its lowest level since November 2000. The number of unemployed persons fell by 4 thousand from the previous month to 393 thousand, while total employment increased by 2 thousand to 11.634 million. Among people aged 15–24, the youth unemployment rate eased to 11.14% from 11.37% in April. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate slipped to 59.50% from 59.52% a month earlier, its lowest reading since June 2025.
