China’s exports surged 27.0% year-on-year to a record USD 412.39 billion in June 2026, far exceeding market expectations for an 18.2% increase and accelerating sharply from May’s 18.2% growth. This marked the fastest expansion since February, driven largely by firms stockpiling inventories to hedge against potential energy price pressures arising from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. For the first half of the year, total exports climbed 17.6% year-on-year to USD 2.12 trillion.
