Russia’s industrial production increased by 0.6% year-on-year in June 2026, rebounding from a revised 0.7% decline in May and beating market expectations of a 0.1% rise. The main growth driver was manufacturing, where output growth accelerated to 2.6% from 0.5% in the previous month. Elsewhere, contractions moderated in several sectors: mining output fell by 2.4% after a 2.7% drop, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply declined by 1.4% compared with 2.2% previously, and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities contracted by 1.2% after a 3.4% decrease. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production edged up 0.1%, following a 0.8% fall in May. Over the first half of 2026, industrial output was up 0.4% compared with the same period a year earlier.
