Exports from Hong Kong jumped 53.4% year-on-year to a record high of $641.1 billion in June 2026, quickening from a 40.8% rise in May. This was the fastest annual growth since March 1984, underpinned mainly by strong shipments of electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances, and electrical parts thereof (up 57.2% vs 56.1% in May); office machines and automatic data processing machines (93.2% vs 50.2%); telecommunications and sound recording and reproducing apparatus and equipment (69.9% vs 37.6%); miscellaneous manufactured articles (58.6% vs 29.6%); power-generating machinery and equipment (23.5% vs 7.6%); and professional, scientific and controlling instruments and apparatus (18.1% vs 7.3%).
By destination, exports to Asia rose 54.4%, led by shipments to Mainland China and Hong Kong (59.2%), Singapore (83.0%), and Taiwan (79.9%). Exports to other major markets also recorded sharp increases, notably the United States (114.3%) and Mexico (94.2%).
