Further decline became limited because the test of 148.05 coincided with the sharp drop of the MACD line from zero.
Pressure on yen returned today despite yesterday's interventions by the central bank, which slightly cooled down buyer enthusiasm. The released inflation report in Japan indicated that consumer prices rose to 3.2%, well below economists' forecasts. The central bank's decision to leave interest rates unchanged and maintain its ultra-loose monetary policy added additional pressure, as the closer rates get to 150, the more aggressive the central bank's interventions will be, and the more noticeable hidden interventions will be aimed at strengthening yen's exchange rate.
For long positions:
Buy when the price hits 148.29 (green line on the chart) and take profit at 148.95. Although growth will occur in line with a bullish market, be cautious about buying at current highs. Also, when buying, ensure that the MACD line lies above zero or just starts to rise from it.
Also consider buying USD/JPY after two consecutive price tests of 147.98, but the MACD line should be in the oversold area as only by that will the market reverse to 148.29 and 148.95.
For short positions:
Sell when the price reaches 147.98 (red line on the chart) and take profit at 147.40. Pressure will return in the event of intervention by the Bank of Japan. However, when selling, ensure that the MACD line lies below zero or drops down from it.
Also consider selling USD/JPY after two consecutive price tests of 148.29, but the MACD line should be in the overbought area as only by that will the market reverse to 147.98 and 147.40.

Before the release of important reports, it is best to stay out of the market to avoid being caught in sharp fluctuations in the rate. If you decide to trade during the release of news, then always place stop orders to minimize losses. Without placing stop orders, you can very quickly lose your entire deposit, especially if you do not use money management and trade large volumes.
And remember that for successful trading, you need to have a clear trading plan. Spontaneous trading decision based on the current market situation is an inherently losing strategy for an intraday trader.
