2026.08.0307:45:13UTC+00Turkey Manufacturing Downturn Eases

The Istanbul Chamber of Industry Türkiye Manufacturing PMI rose to 47.7 in July from 47.1 in June, but remained below the neutral 50.0 mark, indicating a further deterioration in manufacturing conditions for the 28th consecutive month. New orders fell again amid weak market conditions and ongoing price pressures, while external demand also softened, partly reflecting the impact of the war in the Middle East. Output declined for the second month in a row, leading firms to scale back employment, purchasing activity, and inventories. At the same time, supplier delivery times lengthened at the slowest rate in nine months as weaker input demand helped ease supply chain pressures, although disruptions in sea freight continued. On the price front, input cost inflation slowed for the third consecutive month to its lowest level since November 2025, despite higher oil and raw material prices, while selling price inflation moderated to its lowest reading so far in 2026.
