2026.08.0308:12:39UTC+00Greece Factory Activity Expands in July

The S&P Global Greece Manufacturing PMI rose to 54.3 in July 2026 from 53.8 in June, indicating a solid strengthening in operating conditions. Output grew at the fastest rate in five months, supported by sustained client demand and a further increase in new orders. Export orders returned to growth for the first time in six months and rose at the quickest pace since April 2025.

Employment increased at the sharpest rate since November 2025, enabling firms to keep pace with incoming workloads, while backlogs declined for a second consecutive month. Input costs continued to rise, driven by higher material and energy prices, though overall cost inflation showed signs of easing. Output charge inflation also moderated, falling to a four-month low.

Pre-production inventories declined for a fourth straight month, amid longer supplier delivery times linked to shipping delays and shortages. Although business confidence softened slightly, firms remained broadly optimistic about production prospects over the coming year.
