China’s producer prices increased 3.5% year-on-year in July 2026, easing from a 4.1% gain in June, which had been the fastest pace in nearly four years. This was the fifth consecutive month of slowing growth and fell short of market expectations of a 3.8% rise, reflecting weaker commodity prices, softer domestic demand, and ongoing pressure from overcapacity and fierce price competition in several industries.
