Taiwan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate inched down to 3.32% in August 2026 from 3.33% in July. The number of unemployed persons fell by 1 thousand to 400 thousand, while employment increased by 2 thousand to 11.648 million. The labor force participation rate remained unchanged at 59.59%.

On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, however, the unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.41% from 3.39% in July, as the number of unemployed increased by 2 thousand to 411 thousand. At the same time, the jobless rate among young people aged 15–24 ticked up to 11.74% from 11.71% in the previous month.
