US stock futures rose on Thursday as investors began the fourth quarter following a turbulent third quarter. S&P 500 futures gained 0.4%, Nasdaq 100 futures advanced 0.9% and Dow Jones futures added nearly 80 points.
The ongoing AI boom continued to underpin the broader market, offsetting pressure from higher Treasury yields and another upswing in oil prices. Semiconductor stocks were firmer after Micron issued an upbeat forecast, with its shares up 0.2% in premarket trading. Alphabet climbed 2.2% as it began rolling out its latest AI model.
Among other mega-cap technology names, Nvidia rose 0.9%, Microsoft 0.7%, Amazon 1%, Broadcom 0.9%, Meta 0.3% and Tesla 0.5% in premarket activity, while Apple slipped 0.4%. Nike shares were down 0.3% ahead of the company’s earnings release, scheduled for after the opening bell.
