Senegal’s economy expanded by 3.1% year-on-year in Q2 2026, its fastest pace since Q2 2025, but slower than the 4.3% growth recorded in the previous quarter. The upturn was mainly supported by solid gains in the tertiary sector (6.0%), the secondary sector (5.1%), the primary sector (1.5%), and in net taxes (18.1%). Excluding hydrocarbons, GDP rose by 6.4%.
On the demand side, growth was chiefly driven by an increase in gross fixed capital formation (8.0%) and higher final consumption (5.5%). In contrast, exports of goods and services fell by 2.7%, while imports grew by 4.8%. On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, GDP edged up by 0.1%.
