During New York afternoon deals on Monday, the British currency traded lower against most major opponents. As of now, the pound is trading near 1.5899 against the US dollar, 136.49 versus the Japanese yen, 0.8322 versus the euro and1.6678 against the Swiss franc from early highs of 1.5969, 137.03, 0.8294 and 1.6713, respectively.
