The Reserve Bank of Australia announces its decision on interest rate in the Asian session on Tuesday at 12:30 am ET. The RBA is widely expected to keep its benchmark lending rate unchanged at 1.5 percent.
Ahead of the announcement, the aussie held steady against its major rivals.
The aussie was worth 0.7474 against the greenback, 82.09 against the yen, 1.5077 against the euro and 1.0447 against the kiwi as of 12:25 am ET.
