Spain's consumer price inflation rose marginally, as estimated, in August, final data from the statistical office INE showed Wednesday.

Inflation increased to a 3-month high of 1.6 percent in August from 1.5 percent in July. The rate came in line with the flash estimate published on August 30.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices gained 0.2 percent, as estimated, but in contrast to a 0.7 percent fall in July.

Data showed that harmonized consumer price inflation accelerated to 2 percent, in line with estimate, from 1.7 percent in the previous month.

Prices advanced 0.2 percent on month in August. Monthly inflation also matched flash figure.
