The U.S. dollar advanced against most major opponents in pre-European deals on Wednesday.

The greenback advanced to 1.1770 against the euro and 0.9720 against the franc, from yesterday's closing values of 1.1792 and 0.9687, respectively.

The greenback spiked up to near a 2-week high of 1.3408 against the pound and a 6-week high of 0.7856 against the aussie, from Tuesday's closing values of 1.3457 and 0.7883, respectively.

If the greenback rises further, it may find resistance around 1.33 against the pound, 1.16 against the euro, 0.98 against the franc and 0.77 against the aussie.
