House prices in majority of the Chinese cities increased in November, figures from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.

On a monthly basis, house prices climbed 50 cities out of 70 surveyed by the government. It fell in 10 cities and remained flat in 10 cities.

The highest rise in house prices was noted in Urumqi, by 1.8 percent and the steepest decline was seen in Yangzhou, by 0.3 percent.

In the capital region Beijing, house prices showed no variations.

Compared with the same month of last year, house prices grew in 59 cities out of the 70 cities in November, while it dropped in 11 cities.
