At 2.00 am ET Thursday, Destatis releases Germany's factory orders data for July. Economists expect orders to rise 1.8 percent on month, in contrast to a 4 percent drop in June.
Ahead of the data, the euro slipped against its major rivals.
The euro was worth 129.47 against the yen, 1.1285 against the franc, 0.9007 against the pound and 1.1624 against the greenback as of 1:55 am ET
