The services index in New Zealand continued to expand in August, albeit at a slower pace, BusinessNZ said on Monday with a Performance of Services Index score of 53.2.
That's down from the downwardly revised 54.8 in July (originally 55.1), although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Among the individual components of the survey, sales and new orders slowed but continued to expand in August, while employment remained stuck in contraction.
Stocks and inventories saw mild upside from the previous month.
