The pound fell against its key counterparts during early European deals on Tuesday.

The pound dropped to 1.2634 against the franc and 1.3130 against the dollar, from its early session's high of 1.2668 and a 1-1/2-month high of 1.3171, respectively.

The pound retreated to 146.99 against the yen, from an early 2-month high of 147.84.

After rising to a 1-1/2-month high of 0.8872 against the euro at 7:00 pm ET, the pound reversed direction and weakened to 0.8899.

On the downside, the pound may find support around 1.23 against the franc, 1.28 against the dollar, 144.00 against the yen and 1.28 against the greenback.
