Portugal's consumer confidence deteriorated for a fourth straight month in September as household's expectations on their financial situation and the unemployment situation weakened, preliminary data from Statistics Portugal showed Thursday.

The consumer confidence indicator rose to -1.4 from -0.5 in August. The score was negative for a second consecutive month.

The economic sentiment indicator fell to 2.4 from 2.5 in August.

The manufacturing confidence indicator dropped to 0.4 from 1, while the measure reflecting morale in the trade sector rose to 2.8 from 2.5.
