At 4:30 am ET Friday, U.K. mortgage approvals for January and manufacturing PMI for February are scheduled for release. Ahead of the data, the pound traded mixed against its major rivals. While the pound rose against the yen and the franc, it fell against the euro and the greenback.

The pound was worth 1.3242 against the greenback, 148.25 against the yen, 1.3244 against the franc and 0.8582 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
