Destatis will release German trade data for March at 2:00 am ET Friday.
Ahead of the data, the euro traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the euro retreated against the yen and the franc, it held steady against the greenback. Against the pound, it rose.
The euro was worth 123.21 against the yen, 1.1389 against the franc, 0.8636 against the pound and 1.1228 against the greenback as of 1:55 am ET.
