The U.S. retail sales and import price index for June are due at 8:30 am ET Tuesday. Ahead of these data, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the greenback rose against the franc and the euro, it was steady against the pound and the yen.
The greenback was worth 107.96 against the yen, 0.9871 against the franc, 1.1220 against the euro and 1.2434 against the pound as of 8:25 am ET.
