The Bank of England retained the interest rate at 0.75 percent and quantitative easing at GBP 435 billion, as expected. The pound traded mixed against its major opponents after the decision. While the pound changed little against the franc and the euro, it dropped against the yen and the greenback.
The pound was trading at 134.39 against the yen, 0.8889 against the euro, 1.2342 against the franc and 1.2452 against the greenback around 7:03 am ET.
