At 4.30 am ET Monday, UK CIPS/Markit PMI survey results are due. Economists forecast the composite PMI to improve to 49.5 from 49.3 in November.
The pound eased off from its early highs against its major rivals before the data.
The pound was worth 1.3347 against the greenback, 146.12 against the yen, 1.3139 against the franc and 0.8337 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
