At 2.00 am ET Wednesday, Destatis publishes Germany's factory orders data for November. Orders are forecast to grow 0.2 percent on month, in contrast to a 0.4 percent fall in October.
Ahead of the data, the euro held steady against its major rivals. The euro was worth 1.1151 against the greenback, 120.85 against the yen, 1.0819 against the franc and 0.8492 against the pound as of 1:55 am ET.
