The manufacturing sector in Myanmar continued to contract in March, and at a faster rate, the latest survey from IHS Markit revealed on Wednesday with a record low manufacturing PMI score of 45.3.

That's down from 49.8 in February and it slips further beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Individually, there were record contractions in output, mew orders and inventories, while supplier delivery times lengthened by the most on record.

Manufacturing employment in Myanmar fell in March as firms reacted to markedly lower levels of both new and outstanding business.
