As expected, the Bank of England maintained interest rate at 0.10 percent and asset-purchase program at GBP 745 billion. The pound climbed against its major rivals after the decision.
The pound was trading at 1.3144 against the greenback, 138.60 against the yen, 1.1931 against the franc and 0.9047 against the euro around 2:03 am ET.
