At 2.00 am ET Friday, the Office for National Statistics has released UK retail sales and government borrowing figures. The pound changed little against its major rivals after the data.
The pound was trading at 149.51 against the yen, 1.3629 against the greenback, 0.8575 against the euro and 1.2489 against the franc around 2:05 am ET.
