At 8:30 am ET Tuesday, the U.S. housing starts and building permits report for June is slated for release. Ahead of the release of the data, the dollar showed mixed performance against other major currencies. The dollar advanced against the euro and the pound, but exhibited sideways movement against the yen and the franc.
At 8:25 am ET, the dollar was worth 1.2850 against the euro, 1.0542 against the franc, 1.5164 against the pound and 86.86 against the yen.
