The Japanese yen spiked up further against major currencies in New York morning trading on Friday. The yen is trading near fresh multi-month high of 85.13 against the US dollar, 1-week high of 135.66 versus the British pound, 2-day high of 78.13 against the Australian dollar and a 2-week high of 83.22 against the loonie from early lows of 86.11, 136.74, 79.04 and 84.39, respectively.
Against the euro and the Swiss franc, the Japanese currency also traded higher in today's morning session. At 8:35 am ET, the yen climbed to a new multi-month high of 81.55 against the franc and a 1-week high of 112.58 versus the euro, compared to yesterday's closing values of 82.11 and 113.23, respectively. Thereafter, the yen reversed its direction and currently worth 82.10 against the franc and 113.08 versus the euro.
