The value of overall credit card transactions in New Zealand decreased 0.2 percent in July 2010 compared to the month before, according to data published Tuesday by Statistics NZ.
The agency said that core electronic card transactions, which exclude motor vehicle-related transactions, increased 0.7 percent on month.
The figures are seasonally adjusted.
The value of retail transactions was down 0.1 percent on month, following a rise of 0.4 percent in June. Statistics NZ said the decline in July retail transaction values was mainly due to a 3.1 percent fall in the fuel retailing category.
