Extending its previous session's rally, the US dollar strengthened against its major rivals on Tuesday morning in Asia.
The greenback climbed to a 4-day high of 1.5885 against the pound and 86.06 against the yen around 7:35 pm ET and both the pairs leveled off thereafter. On the upside, the US currency may find target levels at 1.5850 against the pound and 86.40 against the yen.
The US dollar that finished Monday's North American deals at 1.5894 against the pound and 85.95 against the yen is presently quoted at 1.5886 and 85.97, respectively.
The greenback also advanced to a 4-day high of 1.3212 against the euro and 1.0503 against the Swiss franc around 8:10 pm ET. The dollar that closed yesterday's deals at 1.3222 against the euro and 1.0496 versus the Swiss franc is presently quoted at 1.3213 and 1.0501, respectively.
If the buck strengthens further, likely resistance levels are seen at 1.3150 against the common currency and 1.0550 versus the alpine unit.
