Japan's machine tool orders surged 144.8% year-on-year in July, preliminary report from the Japan Machine Tool Builders Association showed Tuesday. It followed 143.8% increase in June. Domestic orders grew 101.7% in July and external orders climbed 176.1%.
Machine tool orders have been rising since December last year following sharp declines seen during the height of global economic crisis.
